Experiential Learning with OSI

March 19, 2025

In Fall 2024, the Science, Technology and Public Policy Program (STPP) partnered with the City of Ann Arbor's Office of Sustainability and Innovations (OSI) Director Dr. Missy Stults, Ann Arbor City Attorney Valerie Brader, and Senior Analyst for Engagement DeAndré Calvert. The two students, Ford BA student Terry Nguyen and SEAS/STPP PhD candidate Shuhaib Nawawi, conducted research into model legislation, performed policy analysis, identified potential legislative champions, and drafted state-level model legislation on Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) and building code waivers in support of the city’s A2Zero climate plan goals.
