Shobita Parthasarathy, professor of public policy and director of the Science, Technology, and Public Policy program, recently discussed how she became interested in science and technology policy on Science, Technology, and Society Shorts.
“I ended up doing a biology major, but I wasn’t really all that interested in the traditional jobs that biology majors – going into industry, or becoming a biologist or a physician," she said. "I was really interested in policy and law. So I had this idea in my head that I was going to study science and technology policy. Now, that wasn’t really a thing. Nobody knew what I was talking about. But then, I was introduced to bioethics."
