Rajiv Ghimire

Lecturer in Environment and Sustainability

Rajiv Ghimire is a faculty member in the School for Environment and Sustainability focusing on Sustainability and Development. His teaching and research are centered on global development, climate and energy, adaptation and resilience, sustainable food system, public policy, and the social studies of science, technology, innovation, and futures. Rajiv’s research can be broadly categorized into four themes. 1) Exploring innovative and collaborative approaches to deal with sustainability and development challenges such as climate change, poverty, and inequity 2. Investigating technological and institutional innovations needed to improve environmental governance and climate adaptation 3. Analyzing environmental governance in terms of policy analysis and societal impacts at both the US and global levels. 4. Engaging opposing groups of stakeholders and promoting deliberative discussions on contested and emerging issues such as climate and energy. As an interdisciplinary scholar who values collaboration across the board, Rajiv’s works are published in a wide range of journals such as Ecology and Society, The Professional Geographer, Energy Policy, Frontiers in Sustainable Food Systems, and Frontiers in Political Science. Rajiv holds MS and BS degrees in Environmental Science from Tribhuvan University, Nepal, and a Ph.D. in Human and Social Dimensions of Science and Technology from Arizona State University.
