Bob Axelrod will receive the Johan Skytte Prize

Congratulations to Bob Axelrod who will the prestigious Johan Skytte Prize to recognize his path setting work in cooperation. The Skytte Prize in political science is an international award bestowed annually by Uppsala University, the oldest university in Sweden, for “the most valuable contribution in political science.”

Johan Skytte, a scholar and diplomat, established an endowed professorship at Uppsala in 1622 for “the education of higher civil servants.” This endowment continues to fund political science research, a faculty chair, and the annual Skytte Prize. Launched in 1995, the Skytte Prize has recognized some of the world’s most celebrated political scientists including several of Bob’s colleagues (Robert Keohane, Elinor Ostrom, and Robert Putnam).
